Employee of the Month, November: Wendy

Q:What is your job title and when did you start working here?

A: “I’m a clinical supervisor here [at New Horizon].  I was a medical assistant for ten years, [during that time] I used to help the practice manager and the physician… then I came here in 2011, first as a part time MA, then as a full time MA and eventually became clinical supervisor.”

Q: How did you first get started at New Horizon?

A: “I used to work with Debbie [New Horizon’s clinical director] and Danielle [another clinical supervisor at New Horizon], and when Debbie co-founded New Horizon and asked if I would come work here I said yes.”

Q: What is your favorite part of your job every day?

A: “Helping patients.”

Q: What do you wish more people knew about your job?

A: “I wish people knew that we really try to change things to benefit the patients, we’re always morphing [our programs and strategies].”

Q: When you’re not working at New Horizon, what are you most likely to be doing?

A: “I’m usually taking care of my family, I actually go grocery shopping for fun, I love to go and just pick out different things.”

Q: Speaking of grocery shopping, what’s your favorite food?

A: “Chicken!  I love homemade baked chicken.”

Q: What’s your favorite TV show?

A: “I love to watch the Untold Stories of the ER, the medical shows.  I also love My 600lb Life, I see some of the excuses that we get here, so it’s interesting to compare.”
