Q: What is your job title and when did you start working here?
A: I am a registered clinical dietitian and a board certified specialist in obesity and weight management. I started working at New Horizon Medical at our original location in Norwood back in 2014!
Q: What is your favorite part of your job every day?
A: I love that every day brings a challenge. Not one day is the same and I feel truly blessed to be able to work with so many inspiring and hardworking patients and co-workers.
Q: What do you wish more people knew about your job?
A: I wish people wouldn’t think that my job is to be the food police. I care a lot about health and nutrition and obviously want people to make the best choices. However, my job is to help people align their foods choices with their own goals and values. I want someone to eat less fast food because they want to have more energy, run a 5K, or come off insulin. Not because I told them that fast food is bad for them.
Q: When you’re not working at New Horizon, what are you most likely to be doing?
A: Hiking, running, yoga, cooking, reading. Spending time outside with my husband, daughter, and dog. And learning everything I can about food and nutrition, I can’t get enough!
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: I am going to cheat with something broad and say salad. Almost every meal I have is on a bed of greens, even breakfast! I like having big portions and there are endless combinations and toppings. It just makes me feel awesome.
